The Rosseau Market was founded back in 1999 by Lynnis Royea, a local artisan, and her husband Ernie Sainsbury. They saw that not only in Seguin Township, but all over Ontario, farmland was being eroded by development.
As strong believers in eating and shopping locally they saw a need for an accessible venue to sustain and encourage local growers and producers. They also believed that artists and artisans should be supported so that they could live and work in their community. With the vision of selecting only the highest quality local vendors, the Rosseau Farmers Market was born.
The market is an independently run co-operative. What started as a little idea has now become a weekly summer market every Friday, featuring over 80 local vendors with new guest vendors weekly, bringing thousands of visitors to the area.
The market also now hosts an annual Thanksgiving Market on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving long weekend at the Community Hall in the Village of Rosseau.
The market supports local businesses and charities and works with the Seguin Township to offer the best market experience possible.

Our Mission
Our goal is to provide to the Parry Sound/Muskoka region, fresh Ontario produce and an outlet for the products of local artists, artisans and craftspeople. Our emphasis is on locally grown and produced items, and on land based products. Our aim is to foster the spirit of co-operation among vendors and customers and develop a strong sense of community, and to help preserve small farms and farmland.
